"Call the police if I don't call you again in 2 hours"

It was about 10 PM. I get off the plane and call my mom:
- Call the police if I don't call you again in 2 hours
- Come on! Don't scare me!
- No no I'm joking , but I'm going to meet with some people and all in all I don't know what to expect.

I didn't want my mom to tell me I shouldn't be "looking for internet ads that are trying to recruit prostitutes".
The meeting was held in Wroclaw at the headquarters of Song and Dance. It turned out that the people I had an appointment with a very cool, couple around 50.

Unfortunately, I felt that something was wrong  from the beginning...
In fact, they had already hired ANOTHER singer!

Apparently their Japanese partners had been pressuring them, and they had no choice but to quickly find a girl. I couldn't be there before Thursday, whereas they had to confirm a singer on Monday.
I broke down, because my fault was that I was in Poland too late, and I had become really  excited about this work!

The meeting, however, was a success. I sang, we talked, and it was obvious that they liked me. They seemed a bit disappointed that I came so late. Then they asked if I wanted to go  to Japan the year after. They said that my voice would fit the Japanese tastes and that my blonde hair would be a touristic attraction by itself.
In the end they decided that if something would go wrong with the current singer, or if she would quit, I would be her replacement. They had some doubts about her, because she graduated, moved to the U.S. and it wasn't known whether she would  return to poland in September.

Wether I would enventually go or not, I had to prepare my high school diploma translated, my passport and other documents. With all this, the company seemed legit to me.

In addition, the nice couple told me some anecdotes about the girls who were on their casting. One wanted to bring her boyfriend, another one asked who will pay for her vacation trips in Japan. Divas...

I was so beaten down... On the way from Wroclaw to my village it just came to me what great opportunity just passed by, even if it would involve being separated from my family and boyfriend, as well as staying in a secluded place in the countryside.

C'mon! It's Japan...

I wasn't only there

I finished college and, as all the hostel's guests that I have had to deal with over the last six months, I wanted to take a break. This would help me to think about what I want to do with myself and then to choose wisely a master's field .

Noble ideas, and then everything turned upsite-down ... as usual.

From the beggining...
I heard about people singing on ships and it seemed to be  an interesting option for  me.  Furthermore, I had lived in one place for more than four months - my natural rhythm of life began to insist on a change of residence . Silently, I began the search for such opportunities that would allow me to earn some money at the same time. I was googling sentences like "a contract singer", "musicians on ships", etc. It took me maybe 10 minutes to find the ad :  "Seeking an experiened singer for four - months ,contract in Japan."

- Yeah, I wasn't only there... - I made fun of myself.

So I answered it, writing that I was 22 and had 5 years of experience on stage.  I asked for  the exact terms of the contract, not believing that I would get any response, because the ad had been on the website for quite a time. Obviously, I wasn't saying anything to anyone about all that since I wasn't even sure that I would find anything proper.

And finally one day I received the message. What I read in it baffled me!

"Conditions of the contract :
> 4 months starting from October
> Fee
> Air ticket to and from
> Housing and food provided""

My first reaction was thinking to myself  "well, it's probably some undercover "hore agancy" that just waits for naive girls". Obviously, I still wanted to check out this "hore agency", in case other girls would fall for it :)
At some point I asked Matt what he thought about it - I emphasize - what he thought, not "if he would let me go". No matter what his reaction would be, I would have done exactly what I had planned.
(I think that at my age, problems such as "I have a boyfriend" should not exist, and if any occurred because of him, it means that this boy is limited and must be replaced for a better model (during or after the return :).
Of course, Matt supported me in this abstract idea and said that I necessarily should take a chance on this opportunity.
There was also the question of how to live without each other these 4 months, since we lived together for six months, sharing every moment of our lives. But fortunately, we are already expert in this case, and we know well what the long-distance relationship actually is.
What is supposed to hang, will not drown!

And that's all about it.

If there is somewhere any girl that has some doubts about whether to work or to go on Erasmus or whatever, bring her to me! I always feel broken-hearted hearing the stories about missed opportunities...

I'm going to continue on my first visit to the " hore agency" soon , but for now that's it from my side.
I will try to write often (I'll have plenty of time, whether I like it or not) . I will write about Japan obviously, but I will also review  books and movies. Hopefully I can start some discussions on the topics I tackle - everything that keeps me busy for the next 4 months will be on this blog.
Of course, I don't like self-advertising (well, maybe a little ;), but my previous blog www.erasmuski-w-turcji.blogspot.com was the first step to write my first book ! And this is already a big prize and an another motivation to share my life full of movement with everyone else.
